Frequently Asked Questions
I am not eligible for PROPS 2.0. Do you have other information or resources for helping me manage my weight?
Although you may not be eligible for PROPS 2.0, there are still many ways for you to manage your weight! Please see the attached resource sheet.
How much does the program cost?
The PROPS 2.0 program currently is offered at no cost to eligible patients for 12 months. This includes access to an online program/app called RestoreHealth, plus live, one-on-one coaching. If you are interested, we may refer you to other weight management resources. These additional resources, such as the Center for Weight Management and Wellness and/or medication, would be billed through your insurance, but your insurance coverage would be checked, and you would be notified before you receive any additional care.
What is a health coach?
Throughout the course of this program, you will work closely with your health coach. Your coach is a behavior change specialist. They work with you to reach your goals – no matter what you’re focusing on – by helping you lean into your personal strengths, abilities, and experiences. Your health coach does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. However, they can help you understand and change your habits or behaviors to align with your prescription given by a health care professional.
What are the credentials of the coach?
The RestoreHealth team of coaches have certifications in Health and Wellness Coaching through the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) approved programs. To support this certification, RestoreHealth has an internal training and certification program, Restore Coach Institute, that has been approved by the NBHWC. Through Restore Coach Institute, coaches receive continuing education on topics that are relevant to their work with members in RestoreHealth.
RestoreHealth coaches have diverse backgrounds, with experience as personal trainers, nurses, yoga instructors, or dietitians. While they are not providing these services directly to patients, they do use their background and expertise to create new and helpful content for members to learn from in the RestoreHealth app.
When do I get a coach?
After you enroll in PROPS 2.0, you will register for the RestoreHealth program, and then a Welcome Specialist will help you get started. Your Welcome Specialist’s goal is to transition you to a coach within 2 weeks of registering for RestoreHealth. But they rely on you to complete the welcome survey and sync your devices in a timely way, so get ready to partner with them to make this happen! Once the welcome survey is complete and the devices are synced, you’re ready for your coach!
I am new to the program. What should I do know?
First, welcome! RestoreHealth is a 12-month program designed to help you learn, practice, and reinforce small, healthy habits so that you can be your own best coach for life. This takes time, patience, and repetition. RestoreHealth is here to make it easier by combining personalized health coaching with an easy-to-use mobile app. Your coach will partner with you to help you reach your goals. And in the app, you’ll find short lessons, activities, articles, guided meditations, recipes, and more to support your journey. To start, choose one of the four pillars to focus on: nutrition, exercise, sleep, or stress. Once you’ve identified where you want to focus, begin working with your coach and using the tools in the app that support that pillar. Behavior change can be overwhelming, but at RestoreHealth, success is dependent on starting with one small change and building from there. Everything in our program is designed to help you do just that!
